PREFABRICATED SUBJECTS VS. HANDMADE FANS

In this article, we explain what volumizing lashes are and why there is a lot of debate about using pre-made fans versus handmade fans.

Unlike classic lash extensions, which are applied 1:1 to natural lashes, volume lashes 2-7 use very thin and lightweight lash extensions to hand form a fan that attaches to a single natural lash.

You need to be careful that the base of the fan is very thin and when a fan is properly dipped in glue you will see a seamless attachment even when multiple eyelash extensions are applied together. Of course, the treatment takes a lot of practice, patience and time to master it properly. Don't give up, you can do it!

Even though it takes many hours to complete a full set of volume eyelash extensions, many eyelash technicians prefer to use hand-made fans because of the many advantages they have. First, the Russian volume technique is very unique, and once you master it, it's a great accomplishment to add to your career! In addition, with this technique you can offer your customers a tailor-made service that is associated with a high level of satisfaction, since the volume eyelashes are designed completely individually for each of your customers.

However, since the popularity of eyelash extensions has risen, pre-made fans are becoming more and more popular too! Unlike handmade volume fans, pre-made volume fans are a group of 2 to 7 lashes that are glued or heat glued together at the base and they're ready to pick up and use! For those who are new to handmade fans, we have developed some new pre-made fans that are easy to remove from the shell and leave no sticky residue for a seamless application.

Also, they are wide compartments with a very thin base and minimal amount of glue, which means they will offer some flexibility around the natural lash to some extent. Since making a fan does not require any special skills, it is interesting for eyelash artists who are new to voluminous eyelash extensions.

Also, using pre-made lashes saves time for both clients and technicians as it is a quick volume treatment. So it's the best option for clients who can't lie down for hours but still want their lashes to look fuller and thicker.

With all of these aspects in mind, there are pros and cons to using handmade fans and pre-made fans. However, we find that the handcrafted fans create a fuller, more precise and bushy look. Additionally, you have more control over the lash process from start to finish!
